Deccan Chargers

The $107 million worth IPL team from the beautiful city Hyderabad, which is owned by Deccan chronicle group. The icon player from Hyderabad, V.V.S Laxman represents the team in the inaugural IPL session in 2008. A.Symonds is the most expensive player for the team with 1.35 million. The team got lots of world class players like A.Symonds, A.Gilchrist, R.Sharma, H.Gibbs and C.Vass for the first season. But the team performed below average performances in the first season and finished 8th position in the points tally. For the 2nd season the team was strengthened by players like F.Edwards and D.Smith and expects some good performance in the second season

Indian Cricket League

Indian Cricket League (ICL), an unrecognized cricket league from India was formed in the year 2007 by Shubash Chandra. Kiran More is the commissioner for ICL. The inaugural season was played by six teams and the Chennai superstars won the trophy. The prize money for the first season was $1 million. For the next season the teams were extended into 9 teams including foreign teams from Lahore and Dhaka. This league adds some key retired players like B.Lara, Inzamam, and C.Cairns and some domestic stars. But this league was not recognized by BCCI and the ICC.
